Day01 Fly to Leh early in the morning. Rest for acclimatization. Trip briefing in the evening .
Day02 Sightseeing of Thiksey and Stakna monasteries and Shey Palace.
Day03 An easy day for further acclimatization. Gentle walking around Leh exploring the Leh Palace, Tsemo Castle and Women's Alliance. Evening visit Shanti Stupa and the charming shops of Changspa.
Day04 Visit Basgo Fort and Alchi Monastery en route to Uleytokpo. The jagged skyline of the ruins of the 15th century capital of Ladakh dominates the village of Basgo. The citadel itself is in complete ruins. Built in the 11th century Alchi is one of the few monasteries that survived the restoration of the 16th century. The three tiered Sumstek shows strong influence of Kashmiri traditions, a unique feature in this monastery. We spend the night in the most delightful surroundings amidst apricot and apple orchards in Uleytokpo.
Day05 Drive to the popular Lamayuru monastery standing dramatically against a unique moon like landscape and proceed to Tingmosgang, once the capital of Ladakh which has a castle.
Day06 After a typical Ladakhi breakfast we drive to the start point of our short trek. We trek though beautiful willow trees and barley fields before we ascend to a highpoint of 3720m Meptakla and descend to the village of Hemishukpachen. Drive to Leh stopping by enroute at Likir monastery.
Day07 Drive to Nubra Valley crossing the highest motorable road in the world - Khardungla at 5596m with amazing views of Leh and the Stok range of mountains. We visit Diskit monastery and Hundar sand dunes where one can enjoy rides on the bactrian Camel.
Day08 We make a day trip to visit the recently opened Balti village of Turtuk which used to be a part of Pakistan. Return to Hundar.
Day09 Drive to Panamic (2 Hrs) from where we take a walk to visit Aentsa monastery - 4 hrs. Return to Kyagar village. Evening enjoy a cultural program organized by the village women of Kyagar.
Day10 Visit Samstaling Monastery in the morning. Drive to Sakti Village taking a less traveled route through the scenic villages of Tangyar and Khyungru crossing the 4900m Warila pass.Later visit Taktok monastery 4 ½ hrs. (This crossing of the warila pass will be possible only from mid July once the pass is open for traffic).
Day11 Drive to the breathtakingly beautiful Pangong lake stopping enroute to visit Taktok monastery -5 hrs. We camp close to the shores in basic but comfortable tents with beds and attached bathrooms.
Day12 In the morning light you will see the azure blues and greens of this magical lake, 1/4th of which lies in Tibet. The snow capped Changchenmo mountains reflects on the lake and the colors of the lake keep changing with the light. Walk along the shores of the lake in the evening and enjoy the tranquility of these peaceful surroundings. Late morning return to Leh - 5 hrs.
Day13 Day at leisure in Leh
Day14 Fly to Delhi.
